2016: Gefälschtes Malariamittel in Kamerun

In a post-marketing surveillance operation using Minilabs, The Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network found fake antimalarial medicines with zero quinine content but foreign matter in Cameroon. Fake and poor-quality quinine tablets are treating malaria patients incorrectly resulting in prolonged suffering or even death. In addition, the unknown foreign matter may have toxic effects.
